Canadian Hijacks Plane in Suicide Bid?
When I saw this on the news last night, I thought it was a joke.
I don’t think the American authorities thought it was very funny.
This is currently being investigated by the authorities on both sides of the border but all I could think about is if it really is as easy as jumping a fence to steal a plane.
And why would you think that this would be the best way to commit suicide- that is, hijacking a plane, flying into U.S. airspace and getting yourself shot down? Landing the plane on a dirt road, going to a local grocery store, buying a Gartorade and calmly drink it while waiting for the authorities to come and get him doesn’t strike me as the actions of a suicidal man- but what do I know?
I don’t have any details other than what is in the news but this excuse is either utterly ridiculous or utterly genius. Hmmm…. I should watch CNN or Fox (Ha!) to get the U.S. perspective on this.
Adam Dylan Leon, formerly Yavuz Berke, is originally from Turkey and apparently became a Canadian citizen last year. I can feel the wheels turning….
$10 says that Harper blows a gasket and use this as an excuse to tighten immigration laws.
