I Still Have Faith in Apple….

But my faith in humanity is still shaky.

It actually took two weeks for someone to look at my Mac and the quick fix didn’t do it. My glass half full friend was convinced that it would work- I am not an optimist and I am not happy I am right.

Besides, it is the Year of the Rabbit and us Chickens are in for a trying year. My mom thinks that is all hogwash because you can burn incense and make offerings to turn around your luck but I am hedging my bets and mitigating expectations to minimize the trauma of unfortunate outcomes. That may sound a little defeatist but I’d rather not ride unnecessary highs and lows from unrealistic expectations beyond my control.

Apparently this was a complex order and the poor guy who greeted me had to find someone to help him sort it out. Of course it would have helped if the person who left a message with my brother was more explicit about what was going on- I have two versions of the story and no way to prove who was right so I will have to call it a wash.

The latest estimate is going to run me about 10x what they originally thought. That hurts but I love my laptop and I can’t afford to buy a new one.

I was given a 24-48 hour turnaround which means I should be getting a call today. Am I holding my breath? No. I’ve been sick and I really don’t feel like passing out.

Am I hoping this repair will fix the problem? Crossing fingers but not doing anything silly.

Do I have a back-up plan? I always have my iPod Touch….
