Shameful Secret
I have a confession…I like Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA.
I am hanging my head in shame- and thankful that only a handful of my friends know I write this blog.
Please don’t judge me too harshly.
I first heard this song when I clicked on a link from Lainey Gossip to a video these cute lip-synching gay guys put together while on vacation at FIP. The song is overproduced, the hooks are obvious and the pandering is blatant but I can’t get it out of my head.
Gah!
I find Miley Cyrus annoying on so many levels but she isn’t exactly catering to anyone in my age group.
I had a conversation about one of the girls who performed this song at karaoke. I am practically old enough to be her mother and we joked how one of the songs I sang (Thorn in My Side by The Eurythmics) came out one year before she was BORN!!!
Maybe now is a good time to start doing research on retirement homes….
My friend suggested I check out a remix featuring Notorious B.I.G. The remix is awesome! And I lucked into the remix featuring visuals from a Muppets movie, Muppet Treasure Island perhaps.
It’s pretty hysterical.
So, I’m old AND a geek.
I can’t stop listening to it- I’ll probably be responsible for half the views by tomorrow.
I really should see if I can buy this somewhere because it needs to go on my iPod. In the old days, it would have gone on one of my party mix tapes.
Okay, I’ll stop now before I embarrass (or age) myself further.
