I’m Sick
Not sick in the head.
Just sick- and whiny.
Not flu sick, cold sick.
It started yesterday morning with the “throat tickle” and got progressively worse as the day wore on. I left work early to try and nip this thing in the bud.
I made the classic mistake of trying to do too much when I felt a little better in the evening and paid for it this morning.
My boyfriend woke up next to someone who sounded more masculine than he does. Alarming I’m sure.
I grabbed some extra zzzzzzzs after notifying work that I was out of commission and another four hours of sleep has helped but there is too much to do to stay in bed.
I have been sucking back barrels of lemon and honey tea but I think lozenges are going to save my life at the Adele concert tonight. There is no way I am not going but there will be no singing for me tonight. I just I hope I don’t have any coughing fits at the show but at least my seat is at the end of the row, at the very back, so I can make a quick escape if I can’t keep it down.
And my friend and I were going to hit all the Baskin Robbins locations close to the concert for cheapy 31 cents scoops of ice cream tonight in lieu of dinner. We may just be restricted to one three-scooper…. Oh, the sacrifices. (Sigh.)
Must go, the water just boiled, must take some more tea and have another hot shower to make me feel more human…
