Daylight Saving Time is Killing Me!

Don’t get me wrong- I am not a morning person so I will actually be able to take advantage to the extra hour of daylight in the early evening.

The problem is that I can’t get to sleep and I will probably have a devil of a time getting up tomorrow, or rather, later today.

I see a lot of coffee in my near future.

I just saw a piece on the reasoning behind this practice. We are told that it is a measure to reduce energy consumption but there is no concrete evidence that this is the case. If people would just do the easy things, we would be able to make a real difference. Easy as in turning off the lights when you are not in the room, showers that don’t last half an hour, not leaving the tap running when you brush your teeth.


It will just take me about a week to get used to the shift! Studies show that the week following the time shift in the spring and the fall results in an increase in the number of car accidents- thankfully, I walk to work!

I’ll give myself a few more minutes to wind down- if I weren’t lactose intolerant, I would try some warm milk.
