Does This Really Have to Be Said?

When walking down the sidewalk with a friend, (especially in the winter when the path is already narrowed by snow build-up and one is extra bulky from multiple layers) it really isn’t necessary to keep a foot and a half between you. That is, wide enough to block passage at the sides but not wide enough to push past in between.

Rule of Thumb: If you have to extend your arm with no elbow bend to touch your friend, you are too far away. If you don’t want to get that close, why are you walking with them in the first place?
